"Son3" Originated as a trioof close friends looking for an upbeat style of music to play,
This came to be the CubanSon which is the original style of salsa performed with acoustic guitars and percussion.

Coming from performing in a Andinean style band and also performing with the local big salsa band Franshesco Viran, Ivan Silva and Guillermo Viran used their music skills mastering
the style of Son.

Franshesco Viran plays lead guitar and is the lead vocalist with the help of Ivan Silva who plays rhythm guitar and back up vocals, taking over lead for some songs. Guillermo Viran plays the Bongo drum and cow bell within the ancient Afro Cuban rhythm styles.

These combinations form the basis of the traditional Son. The musicians of Son3 have performed with some of the best latin acts, local and international such as: Ricky Martin, Rumberos, Cabrones, Vatos locos, San Lazaro, Apurima, Mezcla, Sali Frd and the Pachuco playboys just to name a few.

Most of the musitians of Son3 have participated in some of the biggest festivals locally and overseas such as: Melbourne music festival, San kilda fetival, Port ferry...
